Non-Contracted Travel Brokers
- Four (4) written competitive bids must be obtained for contracts between $10,000 and $199,999 to be kept on school file. See R5012 and contact the school's buyer for questions. Risk Management strongly recommends a travel broker with a minimum of 5 operating years in the industry.
- Contract with the travel broker must be reviewed by the Office of Procurement Services via CRAMS prior to obtaining the principal's signature.
- Travel broker should consider using commercial carriers from the preferred list. If a commercial carrier is not on this list, note the following:
o Carrier must send to Risk Management a current certificate of insurance (COI), with a minimum $5M in auto coverage (or a combination of auto and excess)
o Only full-size buses (40 - 60 passengers) are permitted for student transportation.
- Travel broker must submit a current certificate of insurance (COI) to Risk Management with at least $1M of general liability coverage per occurrence.
